Red River Mutual has established three pillars that guide our corporate giving efforts and the projects we aim to support through sponsorship and donation:

  1. Sustainable Homes – Initiatives that support a solid home base for individuals and families through education and increased access to trades.
  2. Supportive Workplaces – Initiatives that a support a sense of safety and belonging in the workplace, including mental health education and support.
  3. Strong Communities – Initiatives that prioritize access to education and a strong and inclusive community infrastructure.

All corporate giving support requests will also be reviewed based on the following:

  1. The opportunity meets Red River Mutual’s current funding capacity.
  2. The opportunity aligns with one or more of Red River Mutual's pillars (listed above and on our Corporate Giving page).
  3. The opportunity is located within an area where Red River Mutual has or is exploring business.
  4. The opportunity is not for individuals, a social event raising funds for individual or private means, an individual athletic team, politically affiliated organizations, or religiously affiliated organizations.

The Spruce Up Your Story initiative isn’t about bringing a brand-new rec centre or library to life – rather, it will honour and protect the spaces that are well-worn and well-loved – the places where stories are already being made. Spruce Up Your Story project entries will be evaluated based on the following:

  • Supports a sense of belonging among community members or groups of community members
  • Makes an existing space more sustainable against future wear and tear
  • Enhances accessibility for various groups within your community
  • Supports essential community needs

We’ll fund up to $25,000 in cash for select, well-loved community spaces across Manitoba and Saskatchewan, with $150,000 in total to award. Whether it’s a roof fix on a youth centre, a fresh coat of paint on a park fence, or new seating in an ice rink, Red River Mutual will restore select community spaces where people connect, laugh, learn, and share.

With no limit to the number of communities that can win, we’re committed to ensuring the winning spaces continue to serve their communities for years to come.
